Released just days ago, OpenAI’s Generative Pretrained Transformer 3.5 is a powerful language processing AI that is incredibly useful for marketers and entrepreneurs. From creative brainstorming to ad targeting, ChatGPT has the potential to revolutionize modern marketing workflows. In fact, I used it to generate 90% of this blog post and the examples in it.

Here are ten ways that you can use ChatGPT to develop new products and bring them to market.

  1. Brainstorm product ideas: ChatGPT can suggest new and innovative product ideas that can help a business differentiate itself from its competitors and tap into new markets. For example, a marketer might use ChatGPT to generate ideas for a new line of pet clothing.

Pet pajamas sounds perfect! 👌

2. Name new products: ChatGPT can be used to generate creative and unique product names, based on customer preferences and industry trends. This can help businesses differentiate their products and make them more memorable to consumers. A human review and editing process may be necessary to ensure that the final product name is effective and on-brand.

3. Write witty slogans and taglines: ChatGPT can come up with catchy and memorable slogans that effectively capture the essence of a product and persuade consumers to buy it. These slogans can be used as inspiration for a marketing team, who can select the ones that best capture the product’s value and appeal to its target audience.

4. Analyze market trends and consumer behavior: ChatGPT can provide insights, suggestions and predictions that are based on market trends, customer demographics, and other relevant information. Using the information, ChatGPT can generate ideas for marketing strategies, suggest potential customer segments and identify new opportunities.

Who should I consider marketing PupJams to?
I hadn’t considered dog pajamas as a potential source of security for small pets, that’s an interesting angle.

5. Brainstorm product variants: By analyzing large amounts of data and using its ability to generate human-like text, ChatGPT can come up with new and creative variations of existing products that can appeal to a wider audience and drive more sales.

6. Write product descriptions and other marketing materials: Marketers can use ChatGPT to generate compelling marketing copy such as product descriptions, landing pages, email subject lines, commercial scripts, social media posts, and more. This saves time and generates high-quality content that is optimized for business outcomes.

7. Do keyword research: ChatGPT can be used to generate keyword ideas for search engine optimization (SEO) purposes. These keywords can help marketers improve their organic search rankings and drive more traffic to their websites. ChatGPT’s keyword suggestions can be used as inspiration for an SEO team, who can select the ones that are most likely to drive traffic and engagement to the product’s website.

These sound reasonable, but I’d recommend double checking any keyword volumes yourself.

8. Research product pricing: ChatGPT can be used to determine the right price for a new product by analyzing data on market trends, competitors’ prices, and other factors that may impact the product’s value. The model can use this data to generate predictions about the optimal price range for the product based on its features, target market, and other relevant information. These predictions can then be used by a business to inform their pricing decisions and help ensure that they are competitive and profitable. However, it is important to note that ChatGPT is a statistical model and its predictions are not guaranteed to be accurate.

Note, this is calculated using information I’ve previously entered — e.g. my hypothetical business is in the USA.

9. Create engaging and effective social media ads: ChatGPT can be used to generate social ad copy by providing it with a prompt that describes the product or service being advertised and its target market. The model can then use its knowledge of language and its understanding of the product and its market to generate a variety of potential ad copy.

While ChatGPT is not specifically designed to write puns, you can generate puns by providing it with a prompt that includes a word or phrase that can be used in a pun.

This ad copy is remarkably well-written and accurate for a first draft.

10. Hire a team: If your product takes off and needs human oversight, ChatGPT can be used to generate a job description. This can be used as a starting point for a human to review and edit, ensuring that it is clear, engaging, and accurately reflects the job and its requirements.

This draft job posting just kept going and going.
